Steel Fireplace Surround at Bosworth Street Residence Basement

Materials: Patinaed Hot-Rolled Steel, Made into Panels

This is the second of two Fireplace Surrounds I designed & fabricated for the Bosworth Street clients. Similar to the one for the living room on the main floor, this one in the basement was also crafted from Patinaed Hot-Rolled Steel, made into panels for a DRAMATIC statement.

Seen from the moment you enter the living room – the effect is dramatic... striking, yet refined. We decided to "bump-out" the Fireplace Surround from the plane of the wall, to create dimension, also adding vertical steel "moulding" strips, to refine the Design intent.

Additionally, I patina-ed the builders "factory-supplied" trim-kit that frames the firebox opening.
